Prof. dr. Iva Bicanic, is a clinical psychologist specialized in the field of sexual trauma. She is head of the National Psychotrauma Centre at the University Medical Centre Utrecht. Also, she is the director of the multidisciplinary Sexual Assault Centre located in 16 regions across the Netherlands for acute victims of rape. She finished her PhD on psychobiological correlates of rape in female adolescents in 2014. Her current research project focuses on the effectiveness of Early EMDR in acute victims of rape. Iva is board member of the Dutch EMDR society.
Prof. dr. Ad de Jongh, is clinical psychologist and professor of Anxiety and Behavior Disorders at the University of Amsterdam. Further, he is honorary professor in psychology at the School of Health Sciences of Salford University in Manchester, at the Institute of Health and Society of the University of Worcester, and at the School of Psychology of Queen’s University in Belfast. He is head of research of Psychotrauma Expertise Center (PSYTREC), approved trainer for the EMDR Europe association, an expert in the treatment of anxiety disorders.Â
Suzy Matthijssen PhD. is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. She is Director of the Enhancing Trauma Treatment Institute and Director of the PSYTREC Academy (Research and Training). She is a CBT Consultant & Trainer as well as an EMDR Europe Consultant & EMDR Europe Trainer. Suzy obtained her PhD on innovations in trauma treatment and has extensive experience providing training in EMDR 2.0, (intensive) PTSD treatments, and anxiety disorders. She conducts research and publishes on advancements in the treatment of anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and trauma-related disorders. Suzy is the vice president of the Dutch EMDR association, is a former member of the scientific committee of EMDR Europe, and is the former co-chair of the Council of Scholars; the Future of EMDR project.
